Yohan Wijesinghe is an Attorney-at-Law of the Supreme Court of Sri Lanka and a Barrister of England and Wales, with extensive experience in commercial litigation, corporate advisory, arbitration, and regulatory matters. He has acted for multinational corporations, financial institutions, government-linked entities, and private clients in complex, high-value disputes and transactions. He is the Founder and Managing Attorney of Yohan Wijesinghe Associates, a Colombo-based law firm focused on practical, results-driven legal solutions.
Yohan Wijesinghe obtained his LL.B. from the University of Leicester, United Kingdom, in 2005. He subsequently completed the Bar Vocational Course at the Inns of Court School of Law (now part of City, University of London) in 2006 and was called to the Bar of England and Wales as a Barrister-at-Law of Lincoln’s Inn in 2007.
In 2008, he was admitted as an Attorney-at-Law of the Supreme Court of Sri Lanka, formally commencing his legal practice in Sri Lanka.
Yohan began his legal career in leading Sri Lankan law firms, gaining hands-on experience in litigation, corporate law, and regulatory advisory work. While serving as an Associate, he advised multinational companies, banks, telecom operators, and government institutions on commercial, financial, and regulatory matters, including project financing and arbitration.
He later practiced as Junior Counsel, handling complex commercial, company, employment, and appellate matters, with regular court appearances and responsibility for drafting pleadings, written submissions, and legal opinions.
Yohan’s practice is grounded in clarity, preparation, and commercial realism. He believes effective legal representation is not only about winning cases, but about delivering solutions that protect clients’ interests, manage risk, and support long-term objectives.
